Life of an unused wine kit

An unused wine kit will last up to about 2 years from the date it was manufactured.  If you look at the bag of grape concentrate it will slowly oxidize while in the box.  If it gets chunky and black instead of red,  it would be best if you threw it out.

I bought 2 wine kits that were 6 years old...  not good.

Bug Update April 19 - Slowing down?

The bugs seem to be thinning out.

Though with a warm spell we could see an increase, I believe that the worst(or most interesting) part of the invasion is over.  I note several secondary sources are becoming proportionately more of the total count, as the amount caught from the cold cellar decreases.

Wood Lice are Getting into My Brain

Well, with more time to hunt the little fellows it turns out that capturing them has almost no correlation to how many are left.  What does this mean for the size of the overall population?  I must do some biology,  population dynamics here I come.  There appearance on my tape is related to the temperature of the day,  rather strongly.  New Chart -

Worrisome, since the average daily temperature has been hovering around -5 degrees Celsius.   There are 20 more degrees to go before summer.  Hoping to find temperatures above a certain level do not encourage bugs to enter my basement apartment.
